Job Description:
Serve as a Senior Boat Technician in support of alteration, modernization, and prototyping of all types of U.S. Federal Government boats and craft, including the U.S. Navy, Special Operations Command, U.S. Marine Corps. U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Board Patrol, NOAA, Defense Intelligence Agency, Drug Enforcement Agency, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Department of Homeland Security. U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, U.S. Department of Energy, Federal Bureau of Investigation and National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Boat and craft alterations, modernization, and prototyping will be accomplished in accordance with Boat Alterations, and Liaison Action Requests (LARs). Specific job requirements will include boat checks and inspections. Installation, and testing of various electrical and electronic systems and equipment, including generators, batteries, cabling, distribution panels, sensors, radars, radios, and integrated helms. Most boat and craft alterations will be conducted pier-side at Government facilities, located at both CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Job Requirements/Skill Sets:
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the alteration, modernization, and prototyping of small boat and combatant craft electrical and electronic systems and equipment. Knowledge in new and innovative electrical and electronic systems and equipment technologies for boats and craft is highly desirable. Senior Boat Technicians must possess leadership experience and able to solve complex technical problems required to oversee Watercraft AIT teams assigned to accomplish complex small boat and combatant craft electrical systems and equipment alterations and installations.
Education Requirements: Individual shall have a high school diploma/GED. An Associate’s degree or higher is preferred.
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible for and be able to maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance. Must be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
