Job Description: QED Systems, an established marine engineering, planning, and ship modernization firm, is seeking qualified individuals experienced in purchasing and warehouse functions. The candidate must be able to comply with all applicable safety regulations, work under both office and warehouse conditions, and be a licensed driver. Requires knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations. Ability to verify with minor coaching that QED is following established procurement procedures. Ability to identify ordered parts, handle Government Furnished Items and provide detailed tracking of assigned warehouse tasks. Having worked under a DCMA-approved purchasing system is a plus.
Job Requirements/skill sets: Experienced in business processes and preferably working in a government contractor setting.
- Concentrated knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Abundant oral and written communication skills
- Experience purchasing labor and equipment/materials to repair Navy ships
- Experience writing service purchase orders to repair Navy ships
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data with DOD, government and Civilian.
- Experience in producing and reviewing price analysis documents
- Experience negotiating with multiple vendors to determine the best value for the company and the government (ability to evaluate pros and cons of each based-on price, quality, speed of delivery and other factors)
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers. (Above average math skills required.)
- Other duties as assigned
- Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential.
- Ability to identify incoming parts, move them safely, and maintain traceability of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Ability to prioritize taskings and provide feedback to supervision.
Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight will be determined by the specific job but no less than 30 pounds.
Credit given for U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard experience. Some travel is possible.

Education Requirements: High School Diploma required. Military technical school(s) desirable or some business college credits desired.
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
