Job Description: This Program Manager position is responsible for the successful execution of the Submarine Preservation contract. This contract involves preservation of submarines at various ship repair locations.
Job Requirements/skill sets:
- Ability to ensure proper manning, scheduling and cost control
- Initiates and submits required reports, schedules and milestones as required in to the Naval Maintenance Database (NMD)
- Attend production meetings as required providing progress reports (using Word, Excel formatting)
- Familiarity of Norfolk Naval Shipyard processes and procedures
- Understanding of Government Contracting principles
- Able to develop and assist in Request for Bid solicitations, post award growth, and new work proposals
- Proficient in managing projects within budget controls, to include submission of limitation of funds and limitation of costs notifications
- Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc…)
- Excellent communication skills, with experience briefing management and coordinating projects with subordinates
- Will perform Program Management Duties for other contracts as assigned/needed
Education Requirements: 10-15 years of experience working in a shipyard environment or a Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of experience (5+ years in shipbuilding) or a Master’s Degree with 6+ years of experience (4+ years in shipbuilding).
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required. An active DOD confidential or secret clearance is required.
