Job Description: A Marine Engineering Contractor is looking for an individual with a Marine AC&R background for our Philadelphia facility. This individual should have experience with processes of welding and brazing of various metals with up to date certificates and certifications. The candidate must have Universal Certification to charge/evacuate AC&R plants with various refrigerants and comply with all safety regulations for working in industrial areas and confined spaces, and be able to climb vertical/inclined ladders.
Job Requirements / Skill Set: Not mandatory but candidate should have experience with Carrier or York 200-300 ton marine reciprocating and centrifugal refrigeration and air conditioning compressors. Must be able to read, interpret, understand and work to the requirements of NSTM 516 and appropriate technical manuals, drawings, and blue prints. Must be able to work independently, in groups or directly with a test engineer and be able to prepare condition reports and repair recommendations. Candidate will be responsible for disassembly, clean and inspect components for wear for reuse or replacement and must have the ability to fabricate and braze tubing, fittings, PVC tubing, gauge lines and cooler connections in making repairs and modifications to AC&R plants. Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
Education: The candidate must be a high school graduate. Candidate shall have at least two (2) years of education in a technical /vocational school, apprentice training, or equivalent.
Security Clearance: Candidate will currently possess or be able to obtain at a minimum a Confidential Government security clearance.
Drug testing and criminal/personal background checks required before hiring.
