QED Systems takes pride in its long-standing relationship with United Way of South Hampton Roads. Our employees are very generous in giving, advocating, and volunteering
to help build a better community. Each fall, QED hosts a United Way Campaign Kick-Off, encouraging employee giving while enjoying a picnic lunch and day of fun. QED sets the bar high for fundraising, and every year, generous employees raise the bar even higher. Most recently, our employees raised $96,010 in 2016/17 to support United Way programs in the South Hampton Roads area. We also provided significant assistance to a local family in need to help them rebuild their lives. QED has been recognized as “A Community Impact Leader” for over ten years; every year since the award began.
In 2011, QED felt honored to have its company president, Mark Jones, serve as Chair of the Board of Directors for United Way of South Hampton Roads. Mark continues to lead our team and encourages coworkers to give back to the community. QED is the Platinum sponsor of the UWSHR Young Leaders Society, which funds leadership training events and promotes a younger generation to Live United. Additionally, QED has received the Maritime Award three times for it’s significant contribution to United Way and the South Hampton Roads Community
QED has participated in the Annual Day of Caring for many years. QED has sent teams to United Way Agency Facilities in Portsmouth, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Suffolk, offering services such as painting, construction, and landscaping. QED provides ongoing support for many of United Way’s certified agencies, including St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children and Edmarc Hospice for Children. QED Branch office employees also participate with their local United Way efforts by pledging donations and volunteering to support local Community Impact Projects.
